if you hate nursing, what would you rather do instead?

just what the title asks. if you don't want to continue working in the nursing/healthcare field at all, what's your plan? what do you want to do instead? and if you hate nursing and have another idea but aren't actively pursuing it right now, why not?

(none of these questions are meant in a judgmental way at all. merely curious :-)

Win the lottery, retire to my 100 acre compound in the mountains, plant a garden, and become a recluse.

Isn't it funny how everybody's slice of heaven is different, at different times of their lives?

I almost joined the police force , but went to nursing school instead . I wonder what my life would be as a police officer now :)

Sounds like my preferred living environment.

I hated nursing so much I went out and got an MBA. But by the time I finished the MBA, I had fallen in love with my job. MBA is dusty now; I've been at the bedside for 36 years.

So what are you doin with a MBA?

I would become an Internet Millionaire and watch my money pile up whilst hanging out on the beach somewhere.

Realistically though, if I was still in high school and could start over again, I would have gone to med school or vet school.

Same exact for me!! I'd settle for Internet thousand-aire, though!

I'd go to culinary school. And cook for all my nurse friends!

Nothing. Ain't it great? It was more fun than anything else I could have done with the time or the money at that point in my life, so I don't regret it. But I don't use it.

If I hated nursing which I don't I would become either a

Flight attendant, police officer or something in business

Or a model/actress/Mediastar (jk)/ famous for nothing like the kardashians

Ugh!! That sucks! I have a prior degree in business administration with human resource exp. I think I'm heading back there. Nursing isn't what I thought it was going to be. Good luck !

I really loved being a stay at home mom, and I would be happy to do that again. But I kinda like being paid. ;-)

I really would love to do hotel/motel management and tourism. I have looked into the program and as much as I'd love to do it I really like getting a paycheck and not adding more debt to our lives. Maybe someday I can do what I love and not what I have to.
