I don't know anyone personally who has taken his classes but the website and reviews generally seem really good. (http://www.adkinsacademy.com/) Has anyone used his program before or have any insight for me?
Thanks!

I attempted the TEAS exam for the first time in March 2014. I had a lot going on personally, but still had purchased the ATI books/practice tests and put a fair amount of time into using them. I also used the Kaplan book. I had anticipated that my scores wouldn't be outstanding, but figured they'd be sufficient enough. I was wrong! I missed my school's required math score, and just barely met the others.
My school also only allowed a total of 2 attempts at the TEAS exam. Obviously I was under a LOT of pressure, and knew it was absolutely crucial for me to walk in prepared and confident in order to raise my scores. I searched endlessly online for various prep course options, and that's when I came across Adkins Academy for the first time.
I submitted an information request, and I was shocked that Dr. Adkin's called me personally not long afterwards-- in the evening time, after business hours. So I will admit that because of the late and quick personal phone call-- not to mention the steep ($1000) price tag-- I really thought I was being scammed at first! However I was desperate, had read many promising reviews, and appreciated that Dr. Adkin's was very thorough in answering all of my questions.I never felt pressured)! So luckily, in the end I made the right choice! IT WAS THE BEST $1000 I EVER SPENT! Honestly it is a lifesaver... IF you take the classes and information provided seriously! My scores increased so much more than I expected. In fact, the proctor for my exam even seemed surprised at how well I had done and congratulated me as I walked out! I remember feeling so relieved, and like I was on cloud nine.
Fast forward to today, and I am already graduating from my school's ADN program this Spring. I did not even hesitate to register for Dr. Adkin's NCLEX Prep course. I have been planning on using his NCLEX prep since before I even began nursing school, thanks to my experience with his TEAS program.
I'll share my own scores down below. If you're considering the Adkin's Academy, PLEASE do yourself a favor and go for it! You will not be sorry!!!

I am quite a bit late on this thread but I can say with certainty that the Adkins Academy TEAS prep is the real deal if you're looking for a fully comprehensive TEASE review program. The program is thorough and will teach you things that the books don't--knowledge AND how to fine-tune your critical thinking to succeed on this difficult exam.
The TEASE exam will surely test your knowledge but will equally test your ability to critically think--the TEASE exam is not just about memorization and formulas! You will complete your book modules and find the question being asked in a completely foreign way on the exam--trust me when I say this. It is at this juncture, at least for me personally, where I feel this review program sticks out.
Dr. Adkins's teaching style will cement the knowledge you need WITH the tools to succeed. These tools are not sold in the books you’ll read, or at least in the books I read and tried studying from. Those books feed you the material and show an explanation of how it is done. You will need more than this to be successful on this exam. As we all know, getting to the correct answer requires the right approach! Dr. Adkins has a way of approaching questions in the review that cause you to look at the information from a different angle. You'd be surprised how well this makes it all "click". From my experience when it "clicks" it will stick.
In addition to the superior review, I knew all through it that I had a well-qualified instructor who genuinely wanted to see the success of his student. I highly recommend this TEAS review program.
No, I am not a paid reviewer. I am a satisfied payer who reviewed!

Hello everyone!
I signed up for Dr. Adkin’s class at the end of June; I think my first class was around June 21st. I did it Mondays and Wednesdays until August 30th, and took the TEAS for the first time September 11th. I got an 88% total; 85.1% in reading; 93.8% in math; 87.2% in science; 87.5% in reading. The way his class runs is in cycles. Basically, he sends you the question packets for each section, and goes through about a half of a packet per class. Since I opted in to take the class multiple times, I went through the cycle of question packets with him maybe three or four times by the time I finished the class. He also would occasionally provide new questions that were not in the question packet which was also nice. The repetition was super helpful, as I noticed I would get questions wrong multiple times, even though I had seen that question before. It made the material stick, and that helped me a lot. Dr. Adkins also helped a lot in specific tricks the test tried to pull on you. He knows what the test is going to focus on, and there really is not anything I can think of that was on the test that he did not mention in class. Adkins helped refresh my memory and also build upon my knowledge in science, reading, English, and math. I think taking his class is worth it because his question packets were very similar to the exam itself and it was super helpful to know what kind of questions were going to be asked. I also like how the class forced me to study, because I was having trouble getting through this study book I bought (and did not use at all). At the end of the day, you have to put in the work. Dr. Adkin gives you the material that will lead you to success on the TEAS, but you must dedicate yourself to fully understanding the material on a higher level than simple memorization. I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck!
