Has anyone started the AMU/APUS RN to BSN program?

Updated:   Published

I was looking at this program, mainly for the cost. $250 a credit hour and includes books. My friend is earning a degree in Intelligence and Terrorism from there and seems to really enjoy the school, via that program.

It is a new program, maybe a term or two old, so I was wondering if anyone was attending, what they thought of it, and also how do employers look at it? Its a school mainly for those in the military, so the military and government recognize it. From what I have read, it seems to be more than a diploma mill, and I know that my friend, who is very smart seems to be challenged by it (again, in his program)

MY other consideration, to which I have already been accepted is UAB, but their tuition is kind of steep, even for online learning... But, it has a great reputation.

Any thoughts?

I taking courses at APUS now for my BSN. I just finished Nur310, which is health assessment and physical examination. I love it. The school is waiting for accreditation from CCNE, this may scare some people. I have a bachelor's in biology and they accepted all of my courses, so all I have to take are my nursing courses. This makes me very happy being that they didn't give me any issues with transferring credits.

Hi, I would discourage you from going to this school. I am in the program now and I am seriously considering switching. The program is one step above being a scam. The instructors are not there to help you, the grading system is by the book but not based on your work. The only thing going for it is its price, but otherwise there are better schools. Do not apply there.
