Has Anyone Here Made the Transition from Med/Surg to ER?

I have 11+ years of experience in inpatient Med/Surg nursing, most recently during the past year. I gave that up to take an office job but find that I hate day shift and sitting in front of a computer all day long. On a whim, I applied for a position in the ER of our hospital and they want to interview me. Part of me wants to go for it, and part of me is scared to try. I tend to be very type A and expect a lot of myself, and I sometimes have unrealistic expectations of the kind of care that can be given...I want every patient to have excellent care all the time, and let's face it, that just isn't realistic sometimes.

So, any thoughts or experiences to share? I would love to hear them, as I need to make up my mind soon whether to go for the interview or not.

Thanks!
