Hi! I am posting in hopes of looking for someone that has been through the Yuba College ADN program or has been recently accepted for the fall 2023 term. I curious to know if anyone liked the program and I'd they have any experience and tips they would like to share.

Hi! I know this post is a year old, but I was wondering if you got any information about the program? I'm planning on applying in the next round but haven't seen much on the school online. Thanks!
Hi!
I am currently in my second semester of this program. I love it so far. It is competitive to get in though so make sure your GPA and ATI TEAS scores are competitive. You are definitely going to be in good hands in this program. If you have any other questions let me know!
Amazing! So glad to hear you're having a good experience. I did see you needed high stats to get in, but luckily I think I'm tracking pretty well against the acceptance stats. Fingers crossed it stays that way! I had read on an old thread that the school tries to match your clinical site based on location. I would be commuting from Folsom (about an hour southeast of Yuba) and am hoping (if accepted) they'd try to match me in the Sacramento clinics. Have you seen this to be true? Or is clinical assignment random/ does not consider where you're coming from?
thanks so much for the information!
So, clinicals vary based on placement and what semester you are in. All clinicals (as of now) are at Adventist Rideout Hospital in Marysville, CA for first semester. This is about 10 minutes away from Yuba College. You will be commuting to Yuba College about 3 days a week for first semester and will have 1 clinical. Second semester, you start looking at other clinical sites. We are connected to Dignity Health and Kaiser Roseville currently, but that is always subject to change depending on spots. It is likely you will be able to attend clinical close-ish to where you live second semester forward. However, it mostly is just the luck of the draw. I would plan to commute your first semester alot, and in further semesters clinical sites will be closer as you develop more nursing judgement and are able to get in to other facilities.
We have people that commute from as far as Lodi for our program. If you get accepted, you can fill out an application for WIOA (work force opportunity act) and they may help you with tuition assistance and travel expenses (such as gasoline). I would apply and see if it works out!
Incredibly helpful! Thank you so much! It's really helpful to set my expectations early. Really appreciate it. Best of luck this semester!

Hello, what are the scheduled hours for clinical/theory? Are you able to work during the program?
Hours vary per semester. They will explain all that if you get accepted at the orientation. I wish I could tell you more but it is luck of the draw truly.

Hello 🙂 I just got into the program and I have a question about the dress code for shoes for clinicals. Can the bottom of the shoes/sole be white and the top be black or does solid color mean completely black, white, blue or brown?
Hello,
Honestly, it doesn't matter that much. As long as they are mostly solid colored I think you will be fine. My shoes are white nikes with a dark blue nike logo and it is OK and nobody has said anything. Just try your best to follow the student handbook to the best of your ability. Some clinical instructors don't care that much and others make it a big fuss. If you have questions about your uniform, you will have several days wearing your uniform during laboratory time and you can ask if what your wearing is appropriate then. You will also have an opportunity to ask as many questions as you like.

That is so helpful! Thank you for taking the time to respond.
