From question #1, I felt like I was guessing on every answer. Only a few...maybe 2 or 3 questions at the end that I knew 100% in my mind I got right. I kept looking at the numbers....25...33...45...and I said to myself "How on earth will I survive if I have to do more than 75?" I am always a fast test taker and I was spending a minute and a half on each question trying to "guess" what the answer "might" be. There were medications I had never seen in my life, procedures I had never heard of, everything was on that test that it felt I was not familiar with and had not studied. After question 75, when I saw that blue screen, I was so incredibly happy and relieved. And I knew that I had probably passed since the questions were SOOOO hard! I had probably 10-12 SATA and only 1 exhibit, but the SATA were some of the easier ones!
I already have a job as a GN and have already started; so much depended upon if I passed this test or not. I rushed home to check for the pop-up. And sure enough, good popup! I just started crying b/c so much went into this. 4 years of college, 4500 questions studied, hours and hours of studying. I never knew the emotions I would feel when I passed b/c I never knew truly how much emotional stress I was holding onto. It feels like my life is finally complete to a degree. I told no one when or that I was even testing, not even my husband. The only people who knew was a good friend who lives in another state (and I only told her b/c her due date for her baby was today) and my nursing educator b/c I had to change my work day. I will wait until official results to tell my hubby and family.
I am thankful for everyone on AN...I used a lot of the study ideas on here...got good recommendations for books, and used the infection mnemonic that helped me on the test! I just have to tell someone how good I feel since I have no one else to tell!!!!!
