Gut Programs

I have heard a couple of you talkl about gut programs. Are these hospitals that do transplants? What are some of your practices? We do gut surgery, but send transplants to Miami. I am interested in hearing about what you guys do!

TIA

We have a good gut service. We do not do gut transplants though, we send those to PA I believe. We have a great motility team and of course we're always working towards not having those kids needing transplants. So far, in the year I've been there, we've only got two kids on the transplant list. One was a congenital issue where he didn't have nearly enough villa and there wasn't much we could do about that. The other one....Well, he might actually get off the list. He's a multiple NEC'er.
