Where are new GTA grads finding jobs? Are you RN or RPN?
Forgot to add that I have applied to nursing schools but I am worried about finding a job after graduation. I just read that The Scarborough Hospital is planning to cut 60 nursing positions. Since I am doing this at a later age I can't afford to be out of work for long. Is there any hope?

Staff nurses do not have enough information about their hospitals' budgets and human resources planning to forecast future workforce demands. Staff nurses do know that the hospital administrators receive their budgets from the ministry of health at the beginning of April. When administrators anticipate a shortfall in the budget, they start layoffs in February and usually finish announcing layoffs by the end of March. The announcement this week of the layoff of the 60 RNs at Scarborough hospital is the beginning of the announcements.
