GS position No part time or per diem option?

I have the opportunity to work on base at the military hospital. The offer is for full time and I was hoping to have the option to go down to part time or per diem in the future should I need to but I heard that GS nurses don't do part time or per diem. Is that true?

Yes gs and vn only post full time positions.

Pretty sure that AD is the plan that part-time nurses at the VA get hired under, but a quick search on USAJOBS tells me that there are agencies that do hire part-time on the GS scale: IHS and HHS being examples. Dunno that that's very helpful to you, though. But maybe it's applicable?
