graveyard shift new lpn looking for advice

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hey all,

I just recently passed my boards and I have accepted a job in long term care facility, honestly this place runs like a hospital from what I've seen. The position that I was offered was 11- 7 and the hours are fine I'll be part time till I get the hang of it. My questions is what is it like? I'm a new nurse and I know my problem area will be charting but what are the responsibilities of a third shift nurse?.

They are giving me 4 days of orientation which is fine? Or is it lol. At this point I don't know what to expect. Truthfully I'm kinda scared well more so nervous to start working as a nurse. I thought the hard part was over graduating and passing boards but it's really getting out there and working In your field with out the safety net of your instructor. I told my job that I have a strong willingness to learn so that being said anyone with any advice on being a new nurse working third shift or any and maybe charting or the routine of it all I would greatly appreciate it.☺..
