Graduate Programs MGHIHP, BC, NE

Published

Is anybody currently enrolled in, or has attended in the past MGHIHP, BC or Northeastern for their Master's in Nursing? I already have a BSN, am moving to Boston in a few months and have applied to all three for their NP programs. I've been accepted to NEU, but haven't heard from BC or MGHIHP yet. A few questions: Did you go full or part time? Anybody have GA/TA/RA positions. if so how did you apply? What was your experience with the school you went to (I've found communication with MGHIHP difficult already)? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I attend the IHP. I came into the direct-entry program and am in my last semester. Overall, I feel like I've gotten a good education. However, I've had my frustrations. The BS program of the portion left a lot to be desired. The 1/2 half (NP portion) has been better. However, clinical placements have been an issue for all tracks but more so for people in primary care (peds, adult, family). People get placed but can be far away from Boston. I've traveled an hour each way to clinical twice a week for the past year. I think part of the problem is the huge expansion in class size over the past few years. They don't have the resources to support the volume of students they take. Given the high cost of attendance if I had to do it all over again I probably wouldn't chose the IHP but I'll come up a competent NP with good experiences and references.
