Hi everyone! I am moving to Mcdonough, GA in July and was wondering if someone could answer a few questions for me. First off, I am going to be a transfer student and have taken all my pre-reqs at other colleges. Where can I find out the selection process? The stats for previous students who have gotten in? Also, is there any other college that is accredited in the area that I should apply to? I applied last week to Gordon and have sent all my transcripts so they can be evaluated, but I am nervous that I will be cutting it close for all the things I have to do into order to apply in July. I wont be there til the middle of July so wont be able to take the TEAS til I get there. Any advice would be much appreciated!

I start the nursing program at Gordon State in Fall/2013. It is VERY competitive, especially for transfers. I was finally accepted on the third try. I had a 3.34 GPA, 67 on the TEAS V and a 72 on the crititical thinking test. Good luck, Gordon is a fantastic school and have been very pleased thus far!

I do not attend Gordon, but one of the pharmacy techs at the hospital I used to volunteer at was accepted on her first try with a 3.5 GPA and a 76 on TEAS. I'm not sure how she did on the critical thinking test, but I remember her telling me it was extremely easy.
What makes it difficult for transfers? Can you elaborate please :)
Gordon obviously gives preferential treatment to Gordon students because they have soooo many applicants (I was told this by my nursing advisor). You must complete 12 credit hours @ Gordon to be considered a gordon student. For example, a "gordon student" may have lower stats than a transfer student but is accepted over the transfer. I have been very pleased so far... Once I had completed 12 hours there I was accepted into the program. Hope this helps! Good luck
