Hi all,

Do you care about safe staffing, the nursing shortage, and nursing education in the state of Georgia?

Come tell your elected representatives why these nursing issues are important for the health of all Georgians. Make your voice heard and help bring nursing issues to the forefront of this legislative session!

Come to the Georgia Capitol on January 27, 2009 at 10am, where we'll sign in with GNA and then lobby our individual representatives on the GNA's top issues for this legislative session. The afternoon will be spent in small groups attending committee meetings on a variety of healthcare topics.

Go to www.georgianurses.org to find your legislators, read GNA's legislative platform and top issues for 2009, and print out lobbying materials for the big day.

No pre-registration is required for RN's, but you can let them know you're coming by emailing [email protected]

Please remember to dress professionally, wear your lab coat & name tag, and bring business cards if you have them!

**NURSING STUDENTS..there is a separate morning workshop to teach you about lobbying. A faculty member must register your school as a group, in order for you to attend. See www.georgianurses.org for more info, or talk to your student nursing organization group advisor about registering your group!

I attended this event last year as a student, and will be returning this year as an RN. It was an incredible opportunity, and I recommend it for all nurses and students.

Hope to see some of you there!

:D
