GN Relocating to Dallas!

Hey everyone! I'm a long-time lurker, but now that I'm about to be an RN I decided to join the crew. :) I recently got offered a GN position for the CVICU at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, which I accepted this week. I graduate next Saturday, and my job starts January 18th, so I won't be in the area for much longer until after the holidays and need help finding a place to live!

I'll be living alone, and I've got a hefty sum of student loans set to kick in around May. I'm hoping to find an apartment I can rent for $600-$700 a month in a decent area not too far from the city. I'm looking at the Lakewood area now. I've been in Fort Worth for the past 4 1/2 years so I don't know a ton about which areas to avoid in Dallas. Any advice would be appreciated!

www.city-data.com have a wealth of information regarding safe areas in dallas for singles. I learned about The Village Apts which is in a safe area, near restaurants, shopping, and bars, and have very reasonable rent.
