GN in California, is it possible for an outsider??

Hello,

I go to school in Erie Pennsylvania, will graduate in august 2011. My biggest dream is to move to California and work there as a nurse. Since i have about 3 months till graduation i want to start to apply now, but i don't know how to go about it. I called couple of hospitals and they said i can apply after i get my licence and that is where problems begin. Since i am in PA and when time comes to pass boards, should i get PA license first and after i get a job get licence for Cali? I don't know how to go about this. Currently i work in the hospital as a nurse Aide. I really don't want to stay in Erie for another year.

When should i apply for jobs? how should i go about my licence? Is it difficult to find a GN position in CA? Any tips on how to apply?
