Gifts from students

So, the holiday treats and little gifts are rolling in this morning - not so much for me, the sub, but lots for other office staff - what are some favorites you've been given over the years?

As a parent to an elementary aged child, I often wonder what I could give that isn't triplicate of other things they've received, and also won't break the bank.

Specializes in school nursing, ortho, trauma.

i don't usually get too many gifts. Occasionally from my dailies like my diabetics but i don't really get upset if i'm overlooked. The best though - giftcard to someplace to get a good cuppa tea or coffee -Doesn't have to be expensive $5 will get the big boy.

One of my secretaries got me a gift bag full of aromatherapy goodies, bubble bath, lotion, body wash, and a candle, Super nice stuff. Can't wait to use it! Other secretary gave me homemade fudge. I've gotten more than enough cookies and homemade assorted sweets... I'm gluten free and can never eat them, so my kids are enjoying!

This is what I'm thinking. I do appreciate the idea, and knowing that it is well received!

I am always tempted to do baked goods - such a holiday tradition (and I love to bake) but I do always worry about how they're received. Not everybody eats that stuff, like you said!

My wife is making caramel corn for the staff. Our P.O. asked for a list from staff for gift ideas, most chose to pass, but I understand that the parents want to get staff something they will use.

IF I get anything it's usually the coffee gift card, but at the HS level, not so much.

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

The only one getting a gift from my son this year is the school nurse. Gift card for the local convenience store good for fuel, coffee, snacks, lunch. She deserves it.

I am in Elementary but often forgotten about too :( I do get some baked goods and gift cards - starbucks, various restaurants in the area, Target etc, soaps & lotions. I enjoy the gift cards - baked goods...not so much - mainly because I get so much of it between the school, church, neighbors etc. I like the soaps/lotions for my office just because I hate washing my hands with the industrial stuff from school :)

Specializes in School Nursing, Hospice,Med-Surg.

I've been gifted heavier this year than I'd expected. I've gotten gift cards anywhere from $5 to $30! For places like Starbucks, Zaxby's, Kohl's and Ulta. Oh my, I LOVE Ulta!!

Today I got some beautiful ornaments, a Yankee candle, a scarf, and homemade stovetop potpourri (love that stuff, too!). I haven't gotten homemade treats but I wouldn't turn sweets away right now!

Yep.

I have one FF parent that gives me Dunkin' or Starbucks gift cards. I appreciate those a lot.

I usually get an assortment of stuff. This year so far has been homemade jam, candles, soap,(yay) and candy.

My favorite things are the little notes/pictures the kids give me. They are so sweet.

I generally won't eat homemade treats...Too much sickness going around. :(
