Getting into a nursing program! need help :(

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

hello everyone,

I'm very stressed out and needed some help. I have a bachelors degree with a GPA of 2.6. I know this GPA is not strong, but does anyone know what schools I have a chance with in New york, New Jersey and even Philadelphia? I'm thinking to take some classes this spring semester to bring my GPA up. Does anyone know of schools that are not so competitive to get into in these areas?

LIU Brooklyn Campus. The requirements are a 2.75 overall gpa and a 2.75 science GPA and at least a 75 on the HESI Entrance exam. I think also Molloy and Adelphi will take you if you can somehow bring your GPA up to a 3.0. Of course the bad thing is that these schools are kinda pricey, especially LIU (about 25-30K per year)

thank you so much for the reply! Do you really think if i bump my overall GPA and sciences GPa to a 2.75 I can get in? Is it more competitive to get in now than before? Also, what are the science pre-reqs? I looked at their website but I'm not sure if I have all of it. So far I have completed, A&P I &II, Micro, Statistics, Psych, I took a chem course that was 4 credits but i'm not sure if it's ok for the program. What kinds of chem do they want? I took a bio class my first year as an undergrad too. Do you think I need anything else? thank you again so much!! =)

The Chemistry classes are General Chem/Inorganic and then Organic/Biochemistry, so you might need one more chem class and that's it. Unlike other programs a 2.75 isn't just the what they put on the website, you really can get in with a 2.75 lol, so it's not one of those "They say it's a 2.75 and everyone has over a 3.6." It's not really competitive because the school has a 6-year Pharmacy program and a Physician Assistant program so most of the people are trying to get into those. For nursing they accept about 100-130 students every semester. How many psych courses did you take? For the program you need general psych and then a developmental psych course, all your other science pre-reqs will transfer fine as long as you got a C and above in all of them.

If you have anymore questions you can send me a message =)
