pre reqs @ technical college

The local univ near me only offers the nursing pre reqs during the time I work. However, there is a technical college that offers pre reqs in day and evening which suits me better. I want to become an RN but I am wondering would it be wise to take the pre reqs at a tech college and try to get into a BSN program elsewhere..

It's a good idea as long as the college you go to for your BSN accepts the credits from the technical college. Most do these days, but call to make sure first. If they do, it's a better deal as the credit hours are going to be less expensive in a tech college and the courses are every bit as good. You may even be able to test out of (clep) some of those prereqs, too.

Thanks the technical college I am thinking about is more flexible because of the times of courses they offer. It is SAC accredidated...I think SACs is Southern Association of Colleges...

I'm not sure what that accreditation means as far as acceptance of credits to the college you have chosen for your BSN. I'd call admissions of both places to know for sure that the credits will be accepted. Around here, community college credits are accepted by all of the colleges, but not sure about the system in the south. There was a time when they were not accepted, so better be certain.
