Georgia Highlands Bridge-

Published

hello all! I was just wondering if there are any fellow LPN's out there who have applied to Georgia Highlands LPN-RN bridge program for this summer 2011. The deadline was March 1st, so the waiting game has been on for a month now ( actually much longer for me as I sent my stuff in in January, so I've been biting my nails for a while now!) I was just curious if there was anyone out there like me waiting on that letter!

Hi, just wondered if you got into the program and what it is like since I have applied for the hybrid bridge.

Yes, actually I did get in, I just finished fall semester yesterday- only one more to go! I did the traditional summer bridge , which was a little tough because it was SOOO much info crammed into 8 weeks. We lost 5-6 out of 19 people in the program ( I am doing it in Marietta so the # of spots is lower than in Rome) . Then in the fall, we merged in with the traditional students, and there are 2-3 girls from the hybrid program. They said that even though their time period was longer, they had to same format as the in-class bridge students- clinical calc test right off the bat, and 4 tests throughout the semester. This fall semester has been challenging, but it is do-able. Class is 1 day a week, and clinicals are scattered throughout the semester. There's a huge online component too, so maybe being in the hybrid will prepare you for that, because that aspect has been tough trying to keep up with the online material (It's just SO easy to forget!) .

Best of luck to you ! I hope you get into the program :-) Any other questions, just ask!

Thanks a lot for the insight! I am currently playing the waiting game but good luck on your final semester!
