I've read a lot of posts by nursing students over the past year and have put together a list of books that have been recommended by them. I'm entering a BSN program in May and want to know if these would be helpful or a waste of money:
1. Kaplan NCLEX-RN Strategies, Practice and Review
2. Nursing Diagnosis Handbook
3. Test taking techniques for beginning nursing students
4. Nursing drug reference
and, someone even suggested the NCLEX audiolearn 12 CD set (for $200 on amazon).
I know we will be issued many books at orientation but I wanted to buy any others beforehand and start going through them now.
Any other suggestions would be helpful.

Those are all excellent books to have. I also suggest a HESI review book, if your program does HESI testing (most do). A friend told me that it was very helpful when it was time to do our med/surg HESI.
