I need help with two simple basic math problems. I need to be sure I am doing this right. The problems are:
a. 1/8 x 2 =
1/12
b. 0.03x = 36
Thank you!

a) is this (x/8) (2) = (1/12)?? if so, this would be the same as x/4 = 1/12, x = 1/3
b) .03x = 36 then x = 36/.03 then x = 1200
hope this helps.
Sorry that second problem is:
1/8
1/12 both x2 = x
The first problem just seems so simple to me I wanted to check!:rotfl:
Thanks!
(1/8) divided by (1/12) becomes (1/8 ) times (12/1) which is (12/8). This can be reduced to (3/2 or 1 1/2) Not sure what you mean by the rest of the problem though.

(1/8) divided by (1/12) become (1/8) times (12/1)...this is (12/8) or (3/2)...then multiply (3/2) by (2/1) and you get (6/3) which reduces to 3
hope this helps...it's helping me review for my entrance exam that i take friday... thanks!
Thank you both!
I was changing everything into decimals:
.125 / .083 x 2 = 3.012
I like you way better:p
