CNA I certification

UPDATE on me!

Well, I thought I was going to go into teaching instead of nursing, but I keep getting pulled back to nursing. Anyways, I will be able to take the NC CNA 1 Competency Exam on May 31st!!! I just found out that the local hospital is hiring CNA I's as soon as we get our certificate and they will then pay for the CNA II training. I'm just wondering what all to expect working in a hospital verses a rest home. What are the pros and cons of each? I know I won't make much as a CNA I (the starting pay is listed as $8.90), but that's more than I make now (I've been a SAHM for the past 7 years).

I hear so many CNA's complain about their job. Is it really THAT bad? I've worked in a rest home before, so I've already been down the "dirty" road. But you know what? I didn't think it was that bad. I just try to put myself in the mindset that if I was the one in that bed, I would want someone to take care of me.

Hopefully since I'm getting this out of the way, I can finish the rest of my pre-reqs up soon and get in the nursing program next Spring or Fall!
