If someone is on 32 units Humalog Mix 75/25 in am & 18 units in pm, using the "Pen", is there any difference in dosing, if you switch to the bottle & syringe method?

im not sure what "the pen" is and i work on a diabetes floor...lol

could you tell me what that is?

why would you think the dose is any different based on method of administration?

seems to me a unit is a unit no matter if its a drip or sub q or whatever

The "pen" is a pen shaped, prefilled delivery system, where you "dial" in the amount of units you are to give your self.

I didn't think there would be a difference, but someone told me there was a difference...but didn't know why!
