Bradley University DNP-FNP Online, Accreditation and Students/Grads

Nurses General Nursing

Hi all! I am applying to Bradley University's DNP-FNP online (BSN->DNP track) and just wondering about accreditation. A little confused on the difference between regional vs. national accreditation. In my mind, national accreditation sounds like it would be the better of the two, but from the research I have done, regional accreditation seems to be a higher standard? Is this correct? Bradley is regionally accredited through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools... what does this mean exactly? This also may be a dumb question, but I am fairly new to nursing as I attended an accelerated BSN program; does the APRN work the same way as an RN license does? As in, once I graduate a program and sit for the APRN exam, I can practice in that state and then when I move, I need to transfer my license and can practice in another state, or would I need to sit for another exam in the next state? My husband is active duty so we move and will move often over the next several years.

Also, has anyone heard anything negative about Bradley? I've emailed my state board of nursing directly to ask if they recognize this program and if I would be eligible to sit for the APRN exam pending graduation (haven't heard back yet.) I just want to make sure I have all of the answers I need before making final decisions. Anyone a student or graduate of this program? Would you recommend it? Thanks so very much!
