Which one of these is more important to nursing?

more important? or which should you take first?

they're both foundation classes, you learn the basics so you can understand everything later on... i don't know if i could honestly pick one! :)

but if you're wondering which to take first, take chemistry. it was a lot easier for me to understand biology once i understood chemistry.

Specializes in cardiac, ortho, med surg, oncology.

Both are equally important to nursing. As akbr10 said, a good grasp of chemistry aids in a good understanding of biology.

For fundamental nursing, biology first chemistry second.

Then, it could be flip around when you study lab work & fluid electrolytes, medication. Chemistry first biology second.

I like Chemistry more than biology!

Specializes in Critical Care, Progressive Care.

Chem - acid/base balance would be pretty tough to understand absent a decent foundation in chem.

Chem also is the the basis of pharm. The cellular part of bio is very important but on cannot really understand that without chem.
