Ageism in nursing?

Howdy. First a quick intro. I have been an RN for seven months now (and a lurker on these boards for about as long). My transition into nursing has been (by all appearances anyway) what one would expect. One thing I didn't count on, though, was my age being a factor. I am 21 (20 when I got my license). I am the youngest RN on my unit and have received comments that range from silly to just plain insensitive. Is this a typical experience for younger nurses? If so, what would you guys suggest as a suitable way to deal with this because at the moment I am flabbergasted:eek: Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
