So after months of procrasinating I have finally decided to take the HESI A2 entrance exam for the lpn fast track program at Gateway. Any tips on what books I should buy to study out of or what to expect? I am actually thinking of buying the Evolve Reach Admission Assessment Exam Review 2nd Edition By HESI. What do you guys think? I feel so anxious that I am actually going through with this. I completed my CNA in 2012 and have been taking pre-reqs for nursing since but decided i should probably just apply for the LPN program and continue from there. Any help is grately appreciated (:

I really think that you will be fine with the test I believe for the LPN program you only need a 75% or higher for the English language composite and a 75% or higher in math. The book you said you were thinking about is fine there is a new edition number 3 you can buy in the book store. I have the book if you would like to use mine. I do not need it anymore. I will say I took the test 3 times. My first two times I received the same score 90% on math, and 83% on English and I was trying for the RN program. So on my last try I did much better and achieved passing the test. I will have to say every time taking the test it was all different never the same test twice.
I think you will be fine for the LPN program you only need a 75% or higher. Both the 2 edition and 3 edition are great books to use. The first thing whether it is LPN or RN program you must take the Hesi A2 exam to get on the list. When taking the test keep an eye out for the time and pace yourself I believe you have 4 hours for the exam. I think you will be fine don't stress over it. The LPN program is a great program and I believe it is a shorter wait time. When are you taking the test?
