I am currently doing prerequisites for a nursing program. I am wondering if Gateway does their clinicals with Yale hospital, I think I read that online somewhere, but after combing the internet I cant seem to find anything saying that. All I need is APII and to make sure I'm good on Math courses (for Gateway) I would need physics and even more math for major Universities. So far I have a B+ or an A in API and A's and B's in my science courses. I would consider doing the Associate program at Gateway then doing an RN to BSN somewhere but only if I can network with YALE. I have extremely low income, two children and I am not married, so I feel like I can get good Grant's and scholarships at 4 year schools if it's in my better interest. Eventually I would really love to go for perfusion which would require some experience in the ER, OR, or ICU. My second question is, to gain experience while I'm in school do you think CNA would be better or EMT? Honestly I am so overwhelmed with options and don't know what goals to set. Any tips or advice is greatly welcome.
