I am so frustrated:banghead: I can't even begin to describe. . I just want to cry. . . .:scrying:

I am enrolled in grad school after 2 semesters of having to delay enrollment r/t various factors and trying to get the finacial aid thing straight. I need a loan. I am so stressed about it. I applied on time, but they lost a piece of the info I send them. I resent it and they had it but didn't act on it. School is starting soon and I just checked on my loan status online only to find that it is "incomplete". I'll bet it isn't, and that they've just f-'ed up again. I am so tired of worring about this that I'm begining to wonder if it's worth it, if it's just not meant to be. I am going into the NP program. If it's this hard to even get started I know why so few do it.

Sorry so long- I had to vent- I'm so fed up with the red tape, "we're so sorry 'mame" BS.

I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. Can you go in and meet with them soon to find out? If it was their fault then they should be able to expedite the process so you don't have to miss a semester... don't be afraid to follow up on this, they have no right to put you through this!

Hi Jen,

I don't know if you even wanted any comfort or have someone reply to your post. Perhaps it was solely for the listening ears (err, reading eyes) of so many here on the AllNurses.com Forum. I am only a very beginning student and I know my troubles are on the way. I'm sure, very sure that this is no easy road for anyone.

I did want to offer my sympathy to you though and let you know that if you've come this far you shouldn't give up. Think of it all (if you're not already) as simply "another hurdle." Things will work out. They always do. You just have to persevere and NOT GIVE UP! :)

I know (and so do you .. as does everyone in this game of life) that everything (EVVVERYTHING) happens for a reason. Don't give up. :) Don't .. give up. It's not the TOTAL end of the world .. just sounds like an obstacle in your way.

It sounds like you've overcome so much already. So just keep it up. My mother always (as does she still to THIS day) told me, "When the going gets tough .. the tough keep going." Keep on keepin' on, Jen. Keep on keepin' on!

Are you going to the Universtiy of Utah? You just have to be, because I have been to 5 different colleges and the U is the one where no matter WHAT I did, register for classes, pay tuition, get loans, check out a library book, there were 50 forms I had to fill out, then they lost them, then changed them, so I had to fill them out again, then I had to talk to the manager, who is out until next Monday, but the form has to be filled out by Friday or you have to start the whole process over again.

I feel your frustration! I ended up graduating with a Bachelors and moving, only to discover that due to some error, I did not graduate, and needed to take one more class--only I was living in DENVER at the time. I decided if I ever go crazy and start killing people, I am starting with the administration at the University of Utah.

Good Luck getting through this, I am sure as long as you are not really in Utah will be okay. Seriously, it has been 7 years and I am still traumatized by this.

Thanks for all the support guys. It's not the school that's the problem. It's Sallie Mae the lending people. I called today and they said that everything was recieved, the account is not "incomplete", and I should have a check in 2 weeks. One week after classes start. Now I need to call the school and find out if that's OK, or if they'll kick me out of class. Maybe I could make a partial payment. There is a reason that I'm taking a loan afterall.

Thanks again,

~Jen

Hey I feel ya, I am still in the ADN program, and I fight more with the damn administration than I do for marks! In my opinion most schools really have thier craniums up thier rectums! It is the same all the time..they lose the paperwork, they didnt get the application, oh thats a catch 22, you need chemistry and biology but unfortunatly we only offer them at the same time......there is so much BS...it is a wonder anyone ever graduates.

My last battle was this [trey ridiculoso]...my school wont allow a student to take 2 biology courses in the same semester, for example patho and micro, biology & ecology...ect. Retarded but true..I eventually had to register for these classes at separate campuses..and the go to the dean when they tried to kick me outta one of the classes.

If you want my advice..seek private financing and involve the school as little as possible in everythin possible. Remeber they are a business, and unlike other businesses they are not really accountable to anyone,...isnt that why communism failed?

Wow. I just put a post up about my own fin aid office concerns. I am so sorry you are going through this. I had a similar issue last year with Sallie Mae, but it turned out to be the school's issue not theirs. Certification of the loan or something. Eventually it all worked out butnot without a great deal of frustration and many tears. I think it's an issue at many many schools as I am now encountering it with my grad school app as well.

Today I learned that for every numerical increment a kid's lead level goes up their IQ is lower by 2.6 points. It crossed my mind that the financial aid office may actually need to be checked for lead based paint, even if the building IS under 10 years old.

Jen, you need to go all the way to the Chancellor's office. Do not pass "GO", do not collect $200. Just get to the office of the top banana and, unless he or she is also screwed up (God forbid), the problem will get worked out in about 5 minutes.

I'm raising a beer in your honor. Please don't ever let anyone mess with you like this ever again. Hey, maybe they'll spiff you a free parking permit.
