Frontier ADN to MSN Bridge students/former students

Working on an application for the Aug term and I was hoping that former students of the Bridge program from Frontier Midwifery and Family Nursing would give me an ideal about how busy the first year is. I know that it is full time with 2 classes each term which seems like a lot and I will have to cont to work full time and I have 3 children. My boys will be seniors and my dtr will be 11. Is it doable, to work and be a full time student with their bridge program?

Are you applying to the class of 92???? I am also applying to the bridge class as well. I have 2 kids (5 and 2) and will do the program full time while working full time for as long as I can. If I have to, I will drop school to part time (which is allowed, except for the bridge courses. That first 4 terms of bridge have to be done full time) And I THINK that the remainder of the program will more likely be 3 classes a term to be considered full time?

Anyways, I think it can be done if you are the type of person that can manage time well (can't most nurses?) and be very well organized. I am so excited to do this and excited to hear of others that are doing it as well. Come join us on the Frontier Facebook page... there is a "discussions" tab and threads for all the classes. Class 92 Pre Bridge is already up and running.

Also I don't think you can take less than 2 classes a term and still finish on time. 2 classes doesn't seem that bad. So maybe you should maybe do it part time or start out full time and if its too much drop back to part time.

Yes I am applying for class 92! I know that 2 classes don't sound like a lot but some online programs will let you take one class at a time. I know that the MSN portion will b very busy but I will have lots more time after that first yr b/c my boys will graduate. Thanks for letting me know about the FB page, I will most def check it out. I am so excited! I have my essays questions ready and hopefully I will b able to submit my app in a few days. Do u know if you can submit your online app before you send in your packet. I think I will give the admissions office a call tomorrow or maybe I can found out on FB. Good luck!

I did ask that question and they said that we should wait until the stuff will be sent in close together as possible. I figure I will submit my online part the day I send the mail stuff out... that wait theres not too much of a lapse. BUT they did give me a heads up to get the app in before the end of March as they have been known to close acceptance of apps early because of too many people applying... so I want to get my stuff out really before the end of the week if at all possible. I have all my online stuff done, just waiting on transcripts and recommendations to come in.

I also called and she pretty much told me the same thing. But she did tell me that if I didnt have all my stuff back by Friday to go ahead and submit my online stuff. So, Im going to hit the submit button tomorrow. I have some of my stuff back but not all. Hopefully by the first of next week. I did check out the FB discussion and read alot of the other posts and there is so much info. I get so excited when I think about it but so nervous at the same time. Thanks for your info and maybe I will talk to you on FB! Good luck to the both of us!

I sent in my application packet this past Saturday and filled out the online past Saturday also. I got a verification email Monday that they received my online app and that they still needed my mail in stuff and a COPY OF RN LICENSE... which is not on the list of things to send. So I faxed that and got confirmation on Tuesday that they have all my stuff and it is ready to be reviewed! I did mail in a 4th reference today... I had 3, but this 4th one was the one I really wanted to send but didn't want to wait too long so I hoping this will make it into my file. Have you applied yet? If not, save yourself some time and send a copy of your license in with your packet.

Yes, I have applied. But I submitted the online packet last friday and just mailed my packet today. They should receive it by Sat, which of course, wont be until Monday. I did get email confirmation that they received my online stuff and I just went ahead and faxed my nursing license. So, everything is done and hopefully I will get the email confirmation next week that they have everything. I have been checking facebook but nobody has posted anything recently. I was thinking about getting on and starting the dicussion back up. I'm sure it will be some time before we know if we get in or not. Can't wait! Thanks for your help. My name is Kelly and I noticed that you were talking to another Kelly on facebook. Lets get together and talk on facebook.:o

Sounds good. I can't wait for the wait to be over so I can know if I am in or not! I am sure we won't know until late June....? They said 6-8 weeks before bridge bound so that would be around that time.

Ladies, you won't hear anything likely until June. I applied last February for the August bridge class last summer, just like you are now. Our class didn't hear anything until the end of June. When they say you don't hear until 6-8 weeks before going to the school, they aren't kidding!!! It is a great program, I have worked full time and have four kids, and I got As first term and am working on doing so again this term. Ita not easy, but it's manageable. Good luck!!!

Thanks HappyNurse, it is always good to hear from someone that works full time and has 4 kids and is making A's! That makes me feel better! I just got an email from Frontier saying that my file was complete and ready for review so atleast I know they have everything and now I will just not expect anything until the end of June. Thanks for your reply.
