From PhRN to Behavioral Sciences/ Health

Published

Hi!

I am an new RN From Philippines, with no work background . I am looking at all types of possibilities for me and one of them is to study abroad and then apply for work and immigration. I have inquiries that I hope some could help me with.

I took a peek in some colleges and universities in Canada and scanned their terms. I have also scheduled my self for counseling tomorrow with regards to these but I'd like to get as much information as I am allowed.

My first question is : With what I have now, a bsn degree and license, am I still required to take a BSN degree or could I apply for Masteral in Nursing degree given I have no clinical (work) background?

Second: While studying and looking for work here I have come to realize that I am passionate with behavioral studies, i tend to be a little bit better in this side of nursing with minimum effort though I am also good at med-surg. Is it possible for me to pursue Behavioral sciences, instead of Nursing, with my current credentials? Would they be strict with the pre requisites for behavioral sciences? Yes this maybe a shift for me but I find myself inclined to this shift.

Third: Since I am applying for immigration as well.

Would it be possible for me to arrange papers for work and immigration whilst studying in Canada?

Yes I have relatives in Canada, and also I am Italian, would these circumstance give me a chance at being allowed to work and then migrate to Canada permanently? (I have viewed the immigration website and it did mention these are possible)

I am sorry for this long post.

Thank you! and God speed to all the Nurses out there!
