From Hampshire College to Nursing, requirements?

Published

Hi,

I am a 3rd semester Hampshire student. I am interested in either

  • applying to a 4 year BSN program as a "freshman" (least ideal)
  • continuing and obtaining my BA @ Hampshire, fulfill pre-nursing requirements, and then doing a two year (or less) BSN program
  • OR transferring into a BSN program if possible, is it?

After that I would either choose to work for a while as an RN or pursue advanced practice. Right now, I'm really not sure what my options are for school.

Hampshire does work, but I find that I have to take most/all of my classes off campus in the future in order to satisfy prereqs.

MAIN QUESTIONS!!!

Does anyone know where I can get a list of schools to apply to as a "freshman" in a 4 year BSN program?

Where is it possible that I could transfer into to a BSN program now?

Should I just do an accelerated program?

Deadlines.... when?

I am trying to waste as little time and money as possible, while obtaining the best possible education...

I have NOT taken A& P yet. By the end of spring, I will have satisfied these potential requirements:

Chem I& II

Orgo I

Abnormal Psych

Nutrition

Statistics

Can you help me out? Any advice would be appreciated! I just don't know what to do. I'm going to meet with some advisors soon though...

Is there a more intense pre-req list than this: Baccalaureate Completion Program for RNs (RNBS) ?

Is that what I should aim for?

Another question..

I know some programs require stats and some require algerbra (or higher)

I will have completed stats at the end of this semester. Is there any reason for me to calc next semester???

Thanks!
