I work in a federal designated community center. Since no one else wanted to do the wound care, it fell to me. I fell in love with it! It is something I see myself doing and getting the WOCN. Well, the facility does not have enough wound care and no preceptor. I did email a bunch of certified wound care nurses in my state. She works in nursing facility. I have an interview next week. But, I am new to the community center and do not want to appear like a quitter. They know how much I love wound care and want to become certified and the challenges to get that while working there. I am going to meet and interview at the nursing facility but if I love it, what to do? Where I work there is tons of turnover even though I do not know why but people quit and leave every six months. I feel bad doing that but I would hate myself not following my passion.
