Foreign grad, wanting to become a crna.

Published

Just wanted to know if there are any CRNA's or SRNA's who have graduated from nursing schools outside the USA? or know OF any ? Is is harder to get into a CRNA program? are the teaching methods more difficult... or should i say... challenging? thanks in advance for the advice...

I am a RN from India and I am currently a SRNA at Michigan. To answer your concern I have to tell you that it was difficult to meet all the requirements to apply for the programs, but if you have set your mind to do this what ever it takes, nothing can stop you and I am example of that.I graduated in 91 so I had to redo all the science subjects, take TOFEL,GRE( as everybody else),get official transcripts from your country, which was a real hassel. But I did it and I am now in my second semester of anesthesia school.I am happy I took the trouble to do it. Best of luck!

thank you for the response, i wanted to also ask you how did you study for the GRE? did you have to get a tutor? self study? classes? thank you in advance for the info :)
