Foreign-educated nurse looking for work in Dallas area

Hello,

I am a nurse graduate from Philippines and I am looking for any suggestions to find a healthcare-related job in the Dallas area. I have not taken the NCLEX yet because I am still waiting for my academic and professional credentials to be evaluated by CGFNS International. While waiting for my credentials to be evaluated, I am seeking to work part-time, in order to gain experience here in the USA. However, I have a two-year gap of unemployment because of the COVID-19 pandemic and I don't have any certificate as a nursing assistant. Still, I have more than five years of nursing experience. I was thinking of applying for positions like "Patient Care Technician", "Nursing Assistant" or "Caregiver", but I don't know if I need to obtain some sort of certification, in order to qualify for these positions. I only have a "Basic Life Support" certificate from the American Heart Association.

Any advice, suggestion or information would be greatly appreciated. I am authorized to work for any US employer.

Thank you!

If you are interested in Psychiatric Nursing you can apply to Terrell State Hospital. Since you do not have your license yet apply for a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant (PNA) position.

Thank you for the advice.
