USF Second Sequence BSN: Spring 2018

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi everyone,

I haven't found a thread for this yet so I thought I'd go ahead and make one!

I'm a current graduate student at USF with the hopes of getting into the Second Sequence BSN for Spring 2018. I also am also applying to UF (I made a topic for that a while back if anyone is applying there as well!!) although I have decided that USF is my top choice because I love it so much here.

Good luck to everyone applying, I look forward to speaking with all of you during this process.:)

Go Bulls! :nurse:

I have also applied for the Second Degree Sequence BSN at USF. I have some family who went to school there so I know it is a good school. Do you know much about the nursing program?

I went to UCF and ended up graduating from Rollins. I'm getting out of the Navy in December and look forward to using my education benefits. I've also applied to a few different schools (UMiami, FAU, Duke).

Can't wait for the USF deadline to come so I can see what my choices will be!

Hi there!! It definitely is a good school all around so I hope you get the chance to come here! I know quite a bit, but mostly because I've been interacting with one of the advisors and former students (If you ever have any questions, definitely utilize the discussion board on the app, ashley is wonderful and will be very helpful in this process)

I also applied to Miami! I got in, but it's too expensive so I have to pass (plus really far from my family):-( (are you on the discussion page for that?)

I'm so happy someone finally commented!!! LOL

I was also accepted to UMiami. It is expensive but luckily my education benefits will pay for everything (one of the perks of being in the military). I grew up in Bradenton and my wife is from New Port Richey. It would be great to be back near family, but the fact that UMiami is only 12 months is intriguing. BTW - I am also on the UMiami ABSN discussion page.

Congrats!! Are you planning on paying the 1000 to hold your spot? It's a shame that we only had two weeks to make a decision :-( But I hope you have your tuition covered there (it would be all deserved!)

And no kidding, I live in New Port Richey!! I agree that having family nearby is super nice, which is why I'd love to continue at USF!

I agree also with the fact that Miami being 12 months is very interesting. I wish there was a way to look up NCLEX pass rates specifically for those who went through the ABSN there though.

Small world!! I did end up paying the $$ to hold my spot. I was accepted early and wanted to make sure I had options. I am thinking of it more as an insurance policy than money I am out if I do not go there.

I know! Well I hope you guys can move back over to Tampa. I want to move out there too because the trek to school is pretty far! And that was a smart move for sure (insurance policy is a good way of putting it). :-)

Hi there! I also applied for the Spring 18 2nd degree sequence. I graduated from UCF originally. I wonder when we will start hearing decisions. Do they wait until after the December deadline? Seems pretty late. Other schools I applied to the deadline has already passed and their orientations are coming up end of October/early November.

Hey! The deadline is October 13th and orientation is December 1st, so we'll know between then.

Hi there! Interviews will be held October 23-25 and from what I understand, they will make the decisions fairly quickly after that. I'm sure we will hear soon on whether or not we will be invited to interview! Good luck :)

I have a feeling we will not hear about interview invitations until after October 13. I was told nothing will happen with the SOAR applications until after the deadline. Just relaying what I was told...anyone hear something different?

Hi there,

I spoke to Ashley (the advisor) a while back. Since interviews are October 23-25, she said we will definitely be offered our interviews between the time it closes and the interviews (It didn't sound like interview offers will go out before then since this isn't "rolling admissions") She also stated decisions are made fairly quickly after interviews and we'd probably know with a week or so. Of course all of this can change depending on their number of applicants and such. :-)
