New grad in Miami?

U.S.A. Florida

Published

I just graduated nursing school in NYC. Boyfriend going to college in Miami starting September. I was planning to stay and work as a new grad in NJ or NYC and have a long distance relationship. But starting to wonder what it would be like being a nurse in Miami. What are the good hospitals? Is the pay as bad as I hear? Is it hard to get a job as a new grad? & any other input is appreciated!

Theres a lot of good hospitals around here in Miami. Some of the good ones are Jackson Hospital, broward health, memorial, kendall regional. The pay is pretty decent depending on where you work.

Im a new grad also. Got my license in january. In my experience, its been hard just to get interviews. No one wants to hire someone without nursing experience. They have nurse residency programs at the hca hospitals like kendall regional. But those seem hard to get into also with the sheer amount of people applying. Even with the experience of working in a small ER for 2 years as a paramedic its been hard trying to find a job.

Thank you!

Go to the job fair at Mercy next week they are hiring for the STARN program. It's amazing and gets your foot in the door.

HI! Were you able to find a job?
