Florida Nurse and Tech patient ratios

Published

I am considering moving to Florida, and I currently work in North Carolina. We have no set ratios for nurse to patients, or tech to patients for in center hemodialysis clinics. Does Florida have set ratios?

Not that I'm aware of. I work med-surge in a small community hospital and we usually have 6 patients, sometimes 7. I don't feel that it's safe but everyone keeps saying I'll get used to it. I don't want to get used to it!

I currently have up to 16 patients, and the techs have 4-5 patients. Is this typical for Florida as well?

I am still wanting to know about the nurse patient, and tech patient ratios for Florida hemodialysis chronic clinics, not med surg floors please, but thanks for your response.

Hi. Florida does not have mandated ratios. So, ask the clinics in the area. I suggest visiting the clinics to see for yourself.
