First yr RN student wants to hear from RNs practicing in CA hospitals!

Hi! I had posted this in the student section, but thought this might be a better place for it, since I didn't get any replies over there!!!

I'm a first year student taking an intro to nursing class and we're doing a paper on current nursing issues in the state of California... So I'm learning that nursing is an ever-changing, dynamic profession!

For the paper I need to interview some nurses currently practicing in California hospitals to get their opinions on current nursing trends and issues.

I would be very pleased to hear your thoughts on any of the following questions.

1. What are some current nursing issues or emergent nursing trends that affect you in your workplace?

(could be trends in staffing, overtime, hospital restructuring, infection control, etc.... or any major trend or issue that affects you or gripes you or whatever :)

2. Is it positively or negatively affecting your nursing practice or causing you to make adjustments in how you practice?

3. What is your opinion about this change?

Oh, and to satisfy my instructor, if you could please include in your reply: where in CA you are practicing, the type of facility you work for, and what type of nursing you practice.
