Pay close attention to your trainer's routine. I found it helpful to write it down - just something basic, like:
2 - 3 p.m. - Rounds
3-4 p.m. - Showers
4-5 p.m. - Get up for dinner
Etc. That way, when you're on your own, you will have that little list to remind you of your general tasks and timelines.
Get everything ready in advance. When I did my first rounds on 2nd shift, I would pass linens for pm care for each room, as well as get out nightclothes and briefs. I would put them under the pillow where they'd be in easy reach. It saves you a lot of time later to not be searching for the things you need.
Good luck. :)

I am VERY excited to start my first CNA job soon. Yay!!! For those of you who have already experienced your first CNA job, do you have any helpful hints or advice that will make things go smoother for a first time CNA in the first week or so on the job?
