First Time Traveler and Private Insurance

I'm starting travel nursing and am trying to figure out how to get a private policy health insurance for my husband and me. It's all pretty complicated because of the different states.

We live in Kentucky right now, but only for another week, if that. If we are able to get someone to take over our lease (not sublease), we will be in Tennessee until July 8th when we move to Maryland (my first assignment). We have no plans of ever returning to KY.

I just spoke to a broker (in TN) who said he can't sell to me because I live in KY. If he refers me to a broker in MD, will they be able to sell me a MD policy when technically I'm in KY right now? Also, he seemed to think there aren't many nationwide policies that are compatible with high deductible/HSA insurance.

Any suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated. My current "Permanent" job ends in the morning (insurance till 6/30) and the new one doesn't begin until July 11th, although I don't want their $84/week insurance.

Thanks!

Is the $84/week insurance for both you and your husband or just you? If its for both of you that's cheap! If its just you, thats about right and about the same as a private policy. Not that its anybody's business, but be careful about leasing out your home and taking advantage of the tax-free stipends. You will need a home address to qualify.
