First Job Help Question

Published

So I have a question, I'm a new grad, passed AANP in December, and am looking daily for jobs that may come available. As I posted on another part of this board, I have applied for 13 positions (none in my state ever say new grads encouraged, unfortunately) and have gotten no call backs. I have self-called almost all of these back and basically get the "we've received your application, the wheels turn slow, don't quit your current job" type of response.

So I plan to attack this full force until I find something. Someone in my current RN job suggested I just take resumes out and go door to door to MD offices, which I don't mind doing but then you get into a situation of, who to give them to (the business OM, which MD if it's a practice of 5, etc. etc) and I don't want to waste the practice's time if they had no plans to expand in the first place.

I use search enginges like indeed, google search and multiple other search engines which all give me the same 10-20 jobs. I had my resume critiqued and was told it was good and to continue using it.

It may eventually come to relocation, but I'm married to a school teacher and it's January so it's hard to relocate until May when we can get her a job too (schools don't post positions until they know someone is leaving, which 99% of the time happens in May for the summer).

So....advice as to anything else I might try would be helpful. I currently work nights as an RN, so I'm juggling working, coming home for a bit of sleep and then sacrificing some day sleep to spend time job hunting.

Looking for jobs in Alabama currently but considering heading to Atlanta which is the nearest large city if I do have to relocate in the summer, but really, really trying hard to find something before then. Anyone have any advice?
