Financing for 2012 Drexel ACE program?

Published

Hey all!

I'm starting the ACE program at Drexel in the Spring 2012. I was wondering how anyone plans on financing the tuition. Loans? Is anyone working while going to school? If any recent graduates read this I would love some advice and insight.

Thanks!!

I got accepted to Drexel's ACE program for fall 2011 and turned them down. It's all loans, baby. They don't offer scholarships or grants. I've heard from those who've done the program that attempting to work while doing their program is near impossible due to the nature of the program.

I was just looking thinking about this stuff too. I got accepted for Fall 2012 and I saw the tuition cost and was like..... ****. Almost had a heart attack. I'm wondering the same thing. There has got to be scholarships. EVERY nursing school has scholarships. I have to depend on scholarships for this! ahhhhh.

You will have to look at private scholarships. The Drexel ACE program (like almost all second degree programs) don't offer school scholarships. It's all loans and any private scholarships you can find.

I went through the program a few years ago, paid it via loans, savings, lived at home, and a scholarship (I was one of the lucky few).

I just finished the program (took NCLEX today!) and found very few scholarships ("A Nurse I Am" video one was pretty much it). And my Google-fu is pretty solid, too - I worked as a 'net researcher in my former life. Even when you do find a scholarhip, the deadlines etc are nto suited to an 11 month program like ACE: for some I was not enrolled in time and others I was already too far in to qualify for the scholarhip!
