I was wondering if anyone knew if Chamberlain had their own loan program through the school? I know schools dont like to prodcast that they do this, but I have tried every resource I have available for paying for school. I am starting the bsn program next month, and am receiving grant/fed loans, but I still owe quite a bit for tuition for fall and spring. I have tried getting private loans, but my mom doesnt have a "creditworthy" score, and my dad refuses to help. We have tried multiple banks, sallie mae, etc.... my work doesnt do tuition assistance, Ive talked to friends and what other family I have, but nothing. Im even looking into getting another job just to pay the tuition, but I have a feeling Ill be struggling while going to school full time and working 2 jobs. Im trying to get a scholarship, but I still need a loan to cover the rest.
I have a friend who is in PT school, that had the same problem, where neither of her parents qualified to co-sign her loans. She called her school and explained that she had no way to pay, and they told her they had their own loan program thru the school, similiar to sallie mae. She pays a small amount each month, but she was able to get enough to live off of and pay her tuition.
If anyone has any information on Chamberlain having any kind of loan program for students who have no other options, please let me know. I know they dont give out this information, and they have a payment plan, but I cant afford over 800 dollars a month.... I am going to call my advisor this week and see, but wanted to get a student's opinion.
Thanks!

I'm in the same situation as you at Chamberlain. They have a loan program with a cap of 20,000. They say it's a last resort option. It's a 12% interest rate. You have to start paying as soon as you get it. It's around $80 a month. I talked to my advisor last week about getting it.
Thanks for the information! Im going to ask my advisor about it and explain my situation, and hopefully something works out. I didnt realize how hard it would be with the loans. Everyone and every website Ive looked at makes it look so easy, oh just get another co-signer.... yeah its that easy! Good luck to you, especially with school and the loan stuff!

I completely feel for you! I am in the same boat! I have been for about 6 years. I was never able to qualify for loans on my own and my parents refused to co-sign. I also didn't qualify for financial aid until I was either married, had kids, 24 years old, or in the military. I was none of those until last month I got married. I now am elidgeble for financial assistance and can get a loan with my husband as the co-signer. I am hoping to make it into the program in Phoenix in January. Have you figured out what your doing financially yet?

Hey REECIEcup19 I was just wondering did you ever recieve the chamberlain loan? Can you give me more details about it. Is it credit based? what do you need to get it? does the montly payments you make go towards paying the loan off? is it difficult to get?
