Field nurse/community health in NYC

What are some reputable companies in NYC for public/community nursing?

The ones I've heard of so far are Americare CCS and Visiting Nurses of NY. Does anyone have experiences with these companies or as a field/community nurse in NYC, in general?

I'm planning a move back to the area this spring/summer but really don't want to work in the hospital setting again (for too long, anyway). I'll probably have to take a 13 week travel assignment at the beginning, but after that I really would like to get out of hospital nursing.

Hey, I am interested in community health nursing as well. I spoke to the director of community health nursing at vnsny and she told me that the new externship program was full for april 2009 except for brooklyn bilingual position :( what are the other certified ones?
