Many of our kids have them. They 3-D print them in class then just have to add the bearing. I guess because it's a class project, it's ok. Earlier this year they were printing toy size tanks and having fights with them so...

Our tax dollars at work. Purple eye roll guy would be here if AN didn't mess with the format!

Fidget spinner update: My mother in law took my son to buy a fidget spinner with his own money. Next day took it to school with strict instructions to follow his teachers rules. Lost it by the end of the day. He says he can get it back if I write his teacher a note asking for it but I told him that his teacher's desk is perfectly safe place for it to be for the next five weeks....lesson learned kid

I got the background story on all the fidget spinners in my district. Our middle school robotics class is making them with the 3-D printer and selling them for $5. They are using the proceeds to buy another robot and have earned almost $300. The teacher has turned it into a lesson in entrepreneurship, marketing, supply and demand. Apparently the class cut off orders for the year yesterday because they are behind by 90 orders and waiting 2 weeks for more bearings to arrive!

My youngest HAD to have one for his birthday. I think he has disassembled it now. He doesn't have ADHD he wanted a new toy.

 No way, Jose kid. Momma's not gonna buy you one.

My daughter has been begging me for one, but all of my teacher friends just say they are a distraction more than anything else. I think she's getting tired of hearing my firm "no."

The kids here are crazy for them. I have a fidget cube myself to help me stop trying to bite my nails when I'm anxious and it works, but the kids see it and what to play with it.
