Hi everyone! A friend of mine just passed her NCLEX (California) and did NOT use kaplan because of cost and access.
Reiterating from what she told me,
"Kaplan, from what everyone says, is an amazing resource that I didn't get the opportunity to utilize. I saw a few Kaplan Practice Trainers on quizlet, but I thought it was too hard at first. I use the following to help me pass on the first attempt! I passed at 93 questions."
What I used:
1. NCSBN (5 weeks)
I felt at lot of New Grads forget/unaware that the NCLEX was written by NCSBN. Why not use an NCLEX review course by the same company who writes the actual exam? Questions on the NCLEX are EXACTLY THE SAME FORMAT as NCSBN's practice questions.
2. uWorld
The layout of uWorld's practice questions is the same as NCLEX. Great for questions on smartphone and table. Their rationales are very detailed and they offer more practices for SATA.
3. LaCharity delegation/priority book
After hearing from collegues and forum posts of "who do you see first?" questions. I gave this book a change. No regrets as more than half of my exam were priority questions. Please buy this book. uWorld and NCSBN had a ton of priority questions in their review. I would recommend to read this first before anything else.
Happy to finally be done with nursing school and now to start applying. Feel free to DM me for any other questions.
