We use the Braun ThermoScan tympanic thermometer. It's what the children's hospital nearby used for years as well, until they switched to the temporal scanner thermometers. I'm not a fan of the temporal scanners though - there seems to be a lot of inconsistency with the readings.

I love my Welch Allyn Sure Temp Plus. Super quick! A little tricky to get orals on some of my K and 1st graders who have no concept of what putting something under their tongue and keeping their mouth closed means, but it gets a reading in like 4 seconds which I love. You can do axillary with it, I just hate axillary temps b/c I don;t think they are very accurate. I once had a kid who felt so hot, but axillary temp said 99.1 (repeated twice). I finally got him to hold it under his tongue long enough and he was 103!!

I really like my VeraTemp touchless thermometer! No issues with accuracy and it's fast.

I swear by my VeraTemp. Its quick, easy, and accurate. I am not sure that it is still available.

I like my WelchAllyn SureTemp plus. Most of my K-3 kiddos can figure it out with a little coaching. Otherwise, I have a temporal.

I have a temporal (Exergen), but sometimes it is wonky. If I'm in doubt I use my oral one - brand is Proven and temp reading in about 10 seconds. My old oral thermometer took over a minute, which, even for the older kids is a long time.

I've tried them all. I especially dislike the temporal ones. I have a tympanic and a Thermofocus laser one which I use if the student just doesn't "get it" or gags with the oral thermometer; Welch Allyn Sure Temp is what I use most of the time.

I have tried a few but like my Welch Allyn Sure Temp the best.

Welsh allyn Tympanic - I also have an oral and a laser scan thermometer but use the tympanic one the most. I hate the laser one - I use it for the special needs kids that will not let me use the tympanic thermometer, I don't find it accurate at all.

i have a vera temp and a braun tympanic. i tend to use the vera temp more - i call it my malingerer buster. Those kids loooove having their temperatures taken

Welch Allen Thermoscan tympanic theremometer is what I use. It seems the kids can't for the life of them figure out an oral thermometer and the temporal ones are NEVER accurate. Our ped stopped using the temporal because they were off so bad.

I could never get anything about 95 with these thermometers.
