-I am canadian and hold a BA

Specializes in Woundcare.

If you're talking about becoming a CNM (certified nurse midwife), then that's an advanced practice nursing education, which means a master's program. You start off by becoming an RN with a BSN and then go from there.

Specializes in Emergency Midwifery.

In Australia....

If you are an RN you can complete a bachelors in Midwifery (full-time 18 months, part-time 3 years).

If you are not an RN then you can get into a direct entry midwifery course (I don't think you get credit unless you have a bachelor of Nursing) and that is 3 years full time or 6 years part time.

Two universities in South Australia offering these programs are:

University of South Australia

Flinders University

The competition is extremely competitive for the direct entry program.
