You will get more responses in the Arizona forum, but I can answer from my experience. I am just finishing block one. I hope your employer is flexible because you will have a base schedule, but there are random off days you will need to come in, and the final 3 weeks, you will be going to class or clinical or tests 4 of 5 days a week.
My schedule was Tuesday 0800-1230 and Thursday 0800-1445. Then I had clinical on Fridays from 0630-1530. However, you clinical day can be any day of the week. Even Sunday. You wont find out your clinical group or day until orientation, which should be a week or 2 before class starts. Then we had tests once a month on Mondays from 1430-1600. You will have two CLA days. Ours were on Wednesdays in the beginning of the semester and times will be a 4-5 hours slot between 0700-1900. You will also need to go to your clinical site 1-3 days before your shift to pick your patient and gather info for your careplan. Plan for this to take 1-3 hours depending on the patient and what type of charting system is used. Then expect another 6-10 hours completing the careplan prep. Then after clinical it will be another 2-6 hours completing the careplan with nursing diagnoses and planning outcomes.
Basically, for the most part you will be unavailable for 3 days out of the week with a few random extra days for class or tests, and that will be in addition to study time. Plenty of people in my class work during the semester, but they have the ability to be flexible with their work schedule. GL and its a great program.
I start in fall too. We got a packet with all of our requirements and background check info. We meet in a few weeks to get our actual schedule. Im hoping I don't have clinical on Fridays because I work part time at the hospital, but they told me they will adjust my schedule for school so thats a relief.

I need info; what would a "typical" Nur 151 schedule be at Scottsdale Community College? After a long wait I have been admitted for Fall 2014! But now I need to reconcile it with my job. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
